Airless Bottles Reduces Chemical Preservative Use in Cosmetic Products

New technologies have given rise to airless bottles that allows oxygen sensitive cosmetic products to be stored and preserved thereby reducing the use of the traditional chemical preservatives that can sometimes bring harm.

Product manufacturers have started using air tight bottles like Glass Vials and Cosmo Round Plastic Bottles for packaging air sensitive products like; creams, gels, lotions, pharmaceutical products, toiletries, serums, moisturizers etc.

How air/oxygen can spoil a Beauty Product?

Although we require oxygen for life, it is not so applicable in the case of the beauty products. Oxygen is prone on attacking the chemical stability and microbiological integrity of a formula that goes into creating a cosmetic product.

Many of the cosmetics products contain an un-noticeable quantity of microorganisms, and long exposure of the products to air/oxygen trigger the growth of these microorganisms’ growth. When the growth of these microscopic organisms flourishes it reduces the cosmetic formula’s preservation system, damaging the product.

Airless packaging technology has not only helped in preventing the stored products from being contaminated. Some of the most effective skin treatments are organic products and these kinds of cosmetics require complete, air tight bottles or containers for storage. The very meaning of organic means a zero usage of chemicals whether it is for preservation or skin care, so these products especially require airless bottles.

Vials and container manufacturers have started producing a variety of different kinds of airless bottles in different shapes and forms so that it appears attractive. An attractive packaging help cosmetic manufacturers to market their products more effectively as consumers want beauty products with enhanced performance that are packaged beautifully.
